LOL. Well...I do both. I have my points in curses and blood. My favorite new thing since Factions came out is the curse Enfeebling blood + the blood skill, Oppressive Gaze. Here's a Picture of what SS + EB + OG can do to a group of enemies:

It's a lot of Fun!

Definitely both. You are restricting yourself in a big way if you maintain the perception of one OR the other. Necromancers are excellent in my opinion BECAUSE they are so versatile, there are many builds to choose from, be they blood, death, or curses based. Give them all a go!

I too use both. My build is:

SS (e)
Parasitic Bond
Life Siphon
Vampiric Gaze
Blood Renewal
Mark of Subversion/Well of Blood/Suffering
Signet of Capture/Blood Ritual/Reckless Haste
Rez signet

My object is to stay healthy and make others pay for attacking me or my friends. So SS is cast, covered by Parasitic Bond. Then Life Siphon others with Vampiric Gaze. If I know I'll be facing lots of spellcasters, then I bring MoS, otherwise, Well of Blood (unless I know we have lots of healing power). Blood Ritual is great for eles and monks, so I bring that too.

SS (e) - means Spiteful Spirit (elite)

This is the best I think is SS.

If you're going as a Blood/SS N, you would use SS as the elite.

The free reallocation of points is there on purpose. You can play however you feel like at any time. I advocate playing with and being familiar with as many skills as possible - so you're reacting better to them if they're used against you (and makes you a more rounded player).

OT- I'm a weekend player so I dont check the forums frequently

SS + insidius parasite means you can type /dance after casting them.
SS + recklesshaste + price of failure is also not bad.

usually I will go curse primary for PVE with blood support
either use well of blood to lighten the load on your healers. Blood ritual for mana boost on nukes and monks. That way, the over all chance of survival and damage output of the party.

Blood for pvp, primary blood, secondary curse. Enfeebling blood + oppresive gaze is bloody awesome. then stack degen with life siphon + faintheartedness. This overall will put alot of pressure on the opposing healer/s. and reduce the damage output of most melee down by 75%. so curse for protection and blood for straight dmg. heck go crazy and try both.
